What were Hytech-Pommec’s problems?
Using generic design software was causing Hytech-Pommec four time-consuming and expensive problems:
Copying loose symbols from schematic to schematic lead to inconsistent size changes, while leaving the component the same, causing lack in uniformity
Manual pasting resulted in frequently losing essential background information
Manually numbering components added significant time and increased errors in Bill of Materials
Different names were used for the same components, causing uncertainties that cost more time and led to a higher risk of mistakes
How did Paro help
Creating custom-made application of HydroSym so that Hytech-Pommec can use it for creating pneumatic systems.
Developing a new database with pneumatic information.
Categorizing components individually, and by variables including pressure, flow and connecting size.
Integrating components with Hytech-Pommec’s ERP-system, so Bill of Materials lists, made by HydroSym based on drawings, could be exported to the ERP system as an XML file.
In addition to a faster import, the details can also be altered more easily. If a change is made in the list, the change is passed through in the schematics as the information remains linked.
